my macaron ventures. turned obsession.. x_x

My first attempt at making the mighty macaron turned out well. Bless! ……but not without the drama it wasn’t. Been researching on this thing for a looooong time and finally had the guts to try it out. It took three days to prepare (including ageing the egg whites). However, the first batch that went in had nipples on the top that i had to smoothen out individually (arghh!). And then they exploded midway in the oven (ho!) and they had no feet/collar (sob.) If you were my neighbour, you might’ve heard me scream: “Show me your feet you crazy macarons!!! £%$*£$!!”


With the second batch, I popped them in quite reluctantly because I didn’t want to face a failure so early in my gastroventuring career. But wait a minute! This second batch made me sing and twirl in the kitchen – that husby came from upstairs and joined me in my joy! hehehee.
